The Real Heroes of the World Championships, and Your Company

Last week, I was walking through Hinterglemm in Austria. This beautiful village hosted the 2025 Alpine Ski World Championships. Everywhere I looked, people were working tirelessly: from technicians preparing the slopes to hospitality staff ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Then I spotted a sign that struck me:

"Not all heroes are the athletes. The real heroes are the staff."

And I thought: exactly. This isn't just true for a world-class sporting event. It applies to business as well.

Success isn't about the CEO or the board alone.

It's easy to assume that leaders drive a company's success. But let's be real: the real impact comes from the people on the ground. The colleagues who interact with customers, develop products, improve processes. They are the unsung heroes who make the difference.

Yet I see many leaders forgetting this. The company grows, the numbers look good, and the CEO gets the credit. But no organization is a one-woman show. Success comes from every level of the company.

The lesson from Hinterglemm.

Recognize and appreciate your team. Not just with words, but with actions. Create a culture where everyone feels valued. Because just like in sports, in business:

Without a strong team, there are no top results.

How do you ensure your team feels valued?
